Boyd Martin Scholarship Recipients 2019

Boyd Martin Award – Outstanding Graduating Theatre Arts Major

The Boyd Martin Award is given to a graduating senior Theatre Arts major for outstanding contributions to the theatre program. The recipient must have been a theatre major for at least four semesters and must have at least a 3.0 GPA both cumulatively and in department courses. The recipient must also demonstrate an excellent record in performance and/or production and have made significant service contributions to the department. The department faculty and staff select the winner, who receives a cash award.

Outstanding Graduate in Theatre Arts

The Outstanding Graduate in Theatre Arts is recognized by the department as the highest academic award to be given to a graduating MFA student and is recognized in the Graduate Hooding Ceremony.

The Hugo and Dena Taustine Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution to Theatre Arts

The Hugo and Dena Taustine Acting Scholarship is awarded annually to a student or students who demonstrate the potential excellence within the field of theatre . Theatre Arts majors who have completed at least 24 semester hours at the university as a declared major and who have a GPA of at least 3.0 in Theatre Arts and 2.5 in all courses are eligible. The recipient shall be selected on the basis of need and/or merit. The winner is selected by the faculty and there is a cash award.

David Palmer Memorial Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution in Performance

The David Palmer Acting Scholarship is for actors majoring in Theatre Arts and includes a cash award.

Mary Alice Hadley Scholarship for Outstanding Contribution in Technical Theatre

The Mary Alice Hadley Scholarship is for students majoring in Theatre Arts and includes a cash award. The intent of this award is to be repeated as long as they are students in the department in good standing.
