Meta Construction Technologies, LLC
Meta Construction Technologies, LLC is a construction technology firm in Louisville, Kentucky. The company was founded by CEO Nick McRae and COO Max Kommor, who met in the University of Louisville’s Entrepreneurship MBA program.
There, they learned about and then participated in the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps site program at UofL, where they benefited from a grant that helped them launch first product.
“The I-Corps program gave us the original capital to initiate development while at the University of Louisville,” Kommor said.
The company has since won a number of awards, including a prestigious Vogt Award for invention and innovation.
Meta Construction serves the asphalt industry with its innovative virtual fleet management and dispatch software solution, BlackTop. Asphalt contractors request trucks from preferred trucking vendors directly through our system and then track drivers using our mobile app.
The asphalt industry loses $1 billion annually to avoidable trucking related expenses. Typical GPS fleet management solutions use expensive hardware and are built for companies that own trucks, not companies that subcontract them.
The company is currently in beta testing with a couple of local heavy highway contractors. Their data and feedback have been crucial in helping Meta Construction get ready for a live rollout of the product in the beginning of the construction season.
