Rand Haley, MS, MA

, is the Director of Shared Research Facilities at the University of Louisville. He joined the Office of Research and Innovation in August 2022 to serve as the institutional expert and coordinator for core research facility operations across the university in order to advance the mission and competitiveness of the research enterprise. Rand has focused his career on helping institutions build and strengthen research organizations and infrastructure.

Prior to joining the University of Louisville, he spent over 20 years as a consultant working with leaders and faculty/scientists at universities, academic medical centers, hospitals, independent research institutes, and other nonprofit scientific research institutions to address challenges and opportunities related to research enterprise strategy, management, and operations. Rand has published papers and delivered presentations across multiple research strategy, leadership, and management areas. He holds a B.S. in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from The George Washington University.
