Allison G. Ratterman, Ph.D

Allison G Ratterman, Ph.D., is the Director of the Office of Research Integrity and serves as a Research Integrity Officer for the institution. As the Research Integrity Officer, Dr. Ratterman is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and coordination of training and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and University policies relating to research, with the objective of ensuring that the responsible conduct of research is maintained at a high priority level in all aspects of research activities.

In addition to the Office of Research Integrity, Dr. Ratterman directs the Conflict of Interest and Commitment Office covering research, academic, business, clinical and institutional aspects. In this role, Dr. Ratterman is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and coordination of training and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and University policies relating to conflicts of interest at the University, including the Health Sciences Campus; Supports and monitors standards to reduce or eliminate conflicts and protect the financial well-being, reputation, and legal duties of the University.

Dr. Ratterman earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Kentucky before pursing doctoral work in Biological Engineering at the University of Georgia. Her early graduate work focused on cardiovascular adaption in zero gravity environments, while her later research explored soft tissue injury.
