2024-2025 President's Reports

February-March

The University of Louisville welcomes Gerry Bradley as its 20th president. Bradley was unanimously appointed by the university's Board of Trustees on March 26. The Carnegie Foundation once again recognized UofL as a “Research 1: Very High Spending and Doctorate Production” university. UofL's Kentucky Manufacturing Extension Partnership secured $8 million to support state’s small- and mid-sized manufacturers. Several UofL and UofL Health faculty and administrators have been recognized for their ongoing successes. And this year's raiseRED campaign garnered more than a half-million dollars for the fight against pediatric cancer.

December-January

The University of Lousville's strategic partnerships continue to help the Commonwealth of Kentucky thrive. A positive and productive higher education experience sets up students for success after graduation. UofL's expanded agreement with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System streamlines transfer students' matriculation through college. The National Institutes of Health strongly endorsed UofL's ability to develop the next generation of clinical researchers through an $11.7 million investment (matched doller-for-dollar by UofL). And the Humana Foundation continues its support with a $6.75 million grant to expand scholarship and initiatives through the Humana Health Equity Research Center within the School of Public Health and Information Sciences.

October-November

In a time when many institutions of higher education struggle to recruit and retain students, the University of Louisville is enjoying all-time-high enrollment and retention numbers. There are several programs and resources which make that possible, among which is the new Comeback Cards debt forgivemess program. Financial stewardship remains strong as seen through the record-breaking Raise Some L fundraising campaign. Strategic partnerships with area schoos and businesses maintain UofL's standing as a premier metropolitan university.

August-September

The 2024-25 academic year got off to a strong start at the University of Louisville. Increases in undergraduate and overal enrollment as well as a near-capacity residence hall occupancy rate mean campus will be bustling this year. The university garnered national attention with it's groundbreaking research in urban area tree canopies and national recognition for first-generation, law school and military student support initiatives. Several students punched their tickets to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. It's no wonder UofL was recently ranked among the world's top 500 universities by the Center for World University Rankings.
