Internship Placement

We are pleased to offer an internship placement at the University of Louisville Music Therapy Clinic (MTC). This internship is a university-affiliated placement and allows students to complete their AMTA required clinical hours before taking their board certification exam.

Music therapy interns at UofL MTC will have the opportunity to work with a variety of populations in multiple facilities across Louisville including adults and children with IDD/DD (individuals and groups); early childhood groups; mental/behavioral health adolescent/adult groups; pediatric individual sessions for those with various special needs; medical (varied populations); group foster homes; and more. The clinic operates from a Community Music Therapy-centered model that believes everyone deserves music.

This internship site will include on-site observation and supervision from a university employed, board-certified music therapist with many years of experience. Interns will lead the treatment process for clients/groups on campus and at several community sites, and will have the opportunity to participate in research and program development projects.
