McConnell Scholars secure summer internships
Louisville, Ky. (June 9, 2025)-- The McConnell Center is proud to announce that many of its scholars will be gaining hands-on professional experience through a wide range of summer internships. As part of the program’s commitment to leadership development and civic engagement, all McConnell Scholars are required to complete at least one internship during their time in the program.
These internships offer students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, build valuable professional networks, and develop skills that will serve them well in their future careers.
McConnell Scholars participating in internship opportunities this summer include:
- Ozy Anyanwu ’28 – Resident Advisor, Governor’s Scholars Program (Centre College, Danville, Ky.)
- Grant Avis ’26 – Intern, Office of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (Washington, DC)
- Hannah Cease ’26 – Research Assistant, Dr. Gary Gregg (Louisville, Ky.)
- Jacob Crowley ’27 – Intern, Buffalo Trace Distillery Archives (Frankfort, Ky.)
- Grace Fields ’28 – Intern, Office of Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman (Frankfort, Ky.)
- Clara Heberling ’28 – Research Assistant, Dr. Gary Gregg (Louisville, Ky.)
- Riley Maddox ’28 – Intern, Office of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (Washington, DC)
- Keely O’Bryan ’28 – Intern, Planning and Development Department, Elizabethtown City Hall (Elizabethtown, Ky.)
- Seth Pinson ’27 – Resident Advisor, Governor’s Scholars Program (Murray State University, Murray, Ky.)
- Kara Beth Poe ’27 – Intern, Floor of the U.S. Senate (Washington, DC)
- Connor Price ’28 – Resident Advisor, Governor’s Scholars Program (Centre College, Danville, Ky.)
- Trey Stephens ’28 – Intern, Office of Mayor Pamela Hoots (Columbia, Ky.)
- Luke Taylor ’27 – Intern, Norton’s Children’s Hospital (Louisville, Ky.)
- Leo Tobbe ’28 – Intern, Sales and Marketing Department, General Electric (Louisville, Ky.)
