Louisville, Ky. (May 21, 2025) - The McConnell Scholars recently elected their 2025–26 council.
The McConnell Scholars are governed by a leadership council, a tradition that began with the first formal election in December 1994. Council positions are filled through a vote of the entire McConnell Scholar body.
The newly elected council members are:
Chair: Kara Beth Poe '27
Vice Chair: Leo Tobbe '28
Secretary: Grace Fields '28
Outreach Chair: Seth Pinson '27
Service Chair: Harper Hall '28
Alumni Relations Chair: Riley Maddox '27
Health and Wellness Chair: Clara Heberling '28
“Once again the scholars have elected an outstanding group of representatives," said McConnell Center Director Gary Gregg. "I look forward to working with Kara Beth and her team as we head into another great year of leadership, scholarship, and service.”
Additionally, Ozy Anyanwu ‘28 will serve as a voting member of the council and a freshman representative member will be selected at the start of the fall 2025 semester. Over the next year, this group of scholars will collaborate closely with McConnell Center staff to support program initiatives, enhance scholar engagement and strengthen the McConnell Scholars community.
