Frequently Asked Questions
ULink is the portal for four
different systems for the UofL
community. The four choices for
go to different options for Students (all services), Faculty (all academic services), and
two for Employees (HR data prior to 2023 and Workday HR). You can still find ULink off of
the louisville.edu homepage, upper right click "Search & Accounts" for a popup box to all
major systems or account links.
Your UofL userID and password, often referred to as your ULinkID and password, are the keys
to access. This combination works with each sign-in to all of our main systems to which you
would regularly have access – including louisville.edu email, Blackboard and other important
university systems.
Yes, because all are different systems. We recognize that our users access ULink for
different purposes. If you are in ULink to check your class schedule or financial account,
you'll sign-in to the Student system. If you are in ULink to view your paycheck, you'll go
to the WorkdayHR system. It is the best way to keep your information separate and secure in
both environments.
Because you need to access the appropriate system for the function required. We recognize
that our users access ULink for different purposes. If you are in ULink to check your Class
Roster or Course Schedule, this information is available in the academic or Student system.
If you are in ULink to access tax forms prior to 2023, you'll go through the view-only door
to access the old HR system. If you want current HR data and personal info, you’ll go to
WorkdayHR. It is the best way to keep your information separate and secure in all
environments.
For WorkdayHR information, including training and support
listings, see the Workday
@UofL
website.
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to both WorkdayHR and old HR info
by requiring a second piece of information before you can log-in to a site. UofL uses Duo as
our second factor or two-step confirmation for your identity. The authentication is separate
and independent from your UofL userID and password in order to confirm that you are the one
accessing your account. See the ITS UL2FCTR
webpage for more
information.
When UofL implemented WorkdayHR in January of 2023, our PeopleSoft HR system went view-only
so that employees could still access information such as reviewing old paystubs, other tax
information, etc.
