Fall Recruitment Schedule

Pre-Rush Events: August 18 - 25
Pre-Rush Events are events hosted by individual chapters prior to recruitment. Attending these events gives you an opportunity to meet the members in each chapter and go into recruitment week with a better idea of which groups you might want to join. Pre-Rush Events will be added to the schedule throughout the summer, and can be found on Engage.

Recruitment: August 26 - 28
On each day of recruitment, chapters will host open houses from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. You can attend as many or as few chapters as you would like. These open houses will give you the chance to meet several members at one time and learn about each chapter.

Bid Card Signing: August 28
At 6:00pm, you will follow the instructions from the chapter you have decided to join and meet the other students in your new member class. You will fill out the required online paperwork for IFC on this night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I only join an IFC fraternity during formal recruitment?
No, you can join an IFC fraternity at any point during the academic year. IFC hosts a formal recruitment at the beginning of each semester to give interested students the opportunity to learn about several chapters at one time.

How much does it cost to be a member of an IFC fraternity?
The first semester of membership is typically slightly more expensive due to various new member and initiation fees paid to the inter/national organization. We strongly recommend asking each chapter you are interested in to share their financial obligations prior to joining. Recruitment is a great time to ask current members about the payment plans and scholarships they offer to help make the fraternity experience more affordable for their members.
