Your Advisory Council

As part of the School of Dentistry’s strategic plan to build patient-centered care, the school started a Patient Advisory Board in 2013. This patient group regularly meets with dental school leaders and students to discuss important topics related to improving the patient experience. These meetings benefit patients, as well as dental school students, faculty and staff.

Benefits of a Patient Advisory Board

  • Receive direct feedback from patients.

  • Strengthen community relations.
  • Appreciate the barriers and opportunities for patients that were previously not understood.
  • Identify system issues that need to be addressed in order to provide better patient-centered care.
  • Achieve higher satisfaction ratings through collaboration in a patient-centered care model.
