Advanced Education Programs


The Advanced Education Programs provide specialty and advanced dental care in:

  • Endodontics – Root canal therapy, surgical endodontics, management of dental trauma.
  • General Practice Residency – Complete dental care in all area of general dentistry.
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery – Extractions and other surgical treatment for conditions such as trauma, defects, tumors, infection, and esthetic conditions.
  • Orthodontics – Braces for adults and children.
  • Pediatric Dentistry – This program serves children birth to age 17. Special needs patients of any age are accepted.
  • Periodontics – A full range of periodontal services are offered, including scaling and root planing, periodontal surgery, root coverage grafting, esthetic crown lengthening, dental implants, sinus lift, ridge augmentation, tooth extraction, and ridge preservation for dental implants.
  • Prosthodontics – All options for tooth replacement are offered including crowns, bridges, implants, and partial or full dentures.

Dental treatment is performed by licensed dentists who have completed their general dentistry education and who are now pursuing specialty and advanced training. University of Louisville School of Dentistry faculty members direct and supervise all specialty clinics.
