For Patients

Medical conditions arising in your mouth or jaws can be painful and frightening.  You may be concerned about oral cancer or suffer pain or difficulty eating due to mouth sores.  You may have seen multiple health care providers without receiving a clear understanding of what is wrong or the best treatment for your condition.  Perhaps you you don’t have a current oral complaint, but are interested in preventative care that comes from a regular oral cancer screening examination by a specialist.

For any symptom or finding inside your mouth, referral to an oral and maxillofacial pathologist may be recommended.  While most dentists provide routine care for the teeth and gums, our advanced training provides the knowledge and experience necessary to diagnose and treat many other uncommon, sometimes serious, oral conditions.  For example, just as your family physician might refer you to a dermatologist for a skin condition, referral to an oral pathologist is useful for diseases of the oral cavity and jaws.

Our doctors are certified as diplomates of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.  Their primary concern is to provide each patient with the most accurate diagnosis possible, followed by non-surgical treatment customized to your needs.

Importantly, our faculty do not typically evaluate or treat patients with temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), headaches, or facial/tooth pain.

  • If we are out-of-network with your insurance plan, you are responsible for the unpaid balance.
