Welcome
Jon Klein, MD, PhD, FASN, Director
Welcome to the University of Louisville Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (UofL CTSI) where we are building the research infrastructure that will improve the health of people in Louisville, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the region. Our overall goal in the CTSI is to expand and fully integrate an “academic home” for clinical and translational research.
In the institute, we have created a multidisciplinary professional development program to train the next generation of clinical and translational investigators. Our coordinated cores provide support for investigators in biostatistics, clinical research resources, and core translational tools, such as proteomics, metabolomics and metagenomics. We are very excited that our cores use the NIH-supported “Development, Implementation and Assessment of Novel Domain Based Competencies” (DIAMOND) program. DIAMOND was developed by the Clinical and Translational Sciences Award Programs to provide online competency training for clinical research investigators and professional staff. These resources are available to the CTSI, community partners and citizen scientists who are well positioned to perform clinical and translational research that will improve the health of multiple diverse populations through our community engagement and interactions. We invite you to join us as a collaborator or to attend one of our many programs.
