The Muhammad Ali Institute at the University of Louisville will host a visit from national advocate Jose Antonio Vargas on Thursday, October 29th at noon in The Red Barn. This event is free and freewill be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Jose Antonio Vargas is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and filmmaker. He is the founder of Define American. In 2011, the New York Times Magazine published a groundbreaking essay he wrote in which he revealed and chronicled his life in America as an undocumented immigrant. He also appeared on the cover of TIME magazine and produced and directedDocumented, a documentary feature film.
Vargas will be visiting the UofL campus to share his experiences and the experiences of Kentuckians who have been categorized as undocumented by our out of date immigration system.
