“GROWING UP GLOBAL:” The Opportunities and Challenges of Migrant & Refugee Youth
Saturday, February 6 from 11am to 4 pm at the Muhammad Ali Center, 144 N. Sixth Street.
Join us, the Muhammad Ali Institute and the Muhammad Ali Center, in an event designed to examine youth migration issues at the international, national, and local levels. Documentary screenings, a panel discussion, and break-out discussions will provide youth with an opportunity to share their perspectives and concerns and to identify solutions to issues. This is a community celebration of Louisville’s compassion and diversity. Entrance to the event and the Muhammad Ali Center is free with a donation of youth-related items and open to the public. Donated items will be distributed to Catholic Charities, Kentucky Refugee Ministries and La Casita.
Suggested donations: school supplies (notebooks, folders, backpacks, highlighters, calculators, markers, crayons, and scissors), school uniforms, alarm clocks, personal hygiene items, diapers, blankets, cleaning supplies, dishes, shower curtains & rings.
