What Should I Bring to Freshman Orientation?

Please Note:  Orientation Session 13 is a one-day session only on Friday, August 3.  No overnight accommodations will be provided on campus for students or family members.

  • Overnight linens (twin XL sheets, pillow, blanket - whatever you need to be comfortable for a one-night stay in a traditional residence hall room!)
  • Towels
  • Toiletries
  • Clothing appropriate for weather(rain jacket, umbrella, comfortable shoes)
  • Printed Orientation Parking Pass (leave on your car dashboard)
  • Driver's license or some form of ID (for student ID pick-up)
  • Username and password for ULink
  • Financial Aid Verification (if required, you will have been notified via your UofL Email)
  • Cash for Orientation t-shirt ($10 each)
  • Materials for taking notes
  • Checkbook and/or credit card (if you would like to pre-order textbooks)
  • List of questions
  • Snacks
  • Extra money for any additional food/snack opportunities
  • Vehicle Registration - Students interested in purchasing/ordering their on campus parking pass during New Student/Family Orientation need to bring a copy of their vehicle registration. This document is REQUIRED to complete the parking pass registration process.
