Robert A. Campbell, II, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Campbell received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Florida (1980). He completed an internship in General Surgery (1986) at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, WV, and completed his residency in general surgery (1990) at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He completed his fellowship in Thoracic/Cardiovascular Surgery (1992) at the University of Miami-Jackson Hospital in Miami, FL. He completed his residency in Psychiatry (2013) at the University of Louisville and is Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Campbell is a former Medical Director and Board Advisory Member at The Healing Place in Louisville, KY (from 2006 - 2010). He was a volunteer Staff Physician at The Healing Place from 2005-2006. His other volunteer work includes Medical Director of Hotel California in Louisville, KY (2007-2009), a recovery center sponsored by St. Stephens Church.
Dr. Campbell has served on many committees, including Board of Directors, Medical Advisor, and Co-Chair for Relay for Life at the American Cancer Society; Intensive Care Committee and Cardiology Consultant Committee at Baptist Hospital East; Endoscopy Committee, O.R. Technique Committee, Surgical Care Appraisal Committee, and Intensive Care
Dr. Campbell has conducted numerous presentations, in-service education, a video presentation, and has presented a national symposium at the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants 2005 Annual Conference, in Anaheim, CA.
Dr. Campbell is a current member of the Kentucky Psychiatric Medical Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, Greater Louisville Medical Society, Kentucky Medical Association, Singleton Surgical Society of Texas, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (retired). He is also a member of the American Delirium Society, the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine, the American Society of Professionals in Public Safety and the National Patient Safety Foundation.
Dr. Campbell is a University of Louisville Faculty Psychiatrist in Emergency Psychiatric Services and Consult/Liaison Psychiatry at University of Louisville Hospital.
