Dr. Huang received his Ph.D. in Neural Sciences from Indiana University, in Bloomington, IN.  He received his medical degree in Beijing Medical University, in Beijing, China.  He completed his residency in with the Department of Anesthesia at the Tiantan Hospital in Beijing, China (1994). In 2003, he completed his Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Pharmacology and Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN.  He completed his Psychiatry residency in 2008 at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where he was Chief Resident his third year.

Dr. Huang is board certified in adult psychiatry (2010).

Dr. Huang has had many publications, and has received numerous awards (including Doctoral student grant-in-aid of research, Starr Fellowship, Fellowship for collaborative graduate-undergraduate research, and the Research Fellowship award, all at Indiana University. He has served on the Risk and Safety Committee and Clinical Competency Exam Committee at Southern Illinois University, School of Medicine.

Dr. Huang has been a member of several professional organizations, such as the American Medical Association, Ohio Psychiatric Association, American Pain Society, The American Physiological Society, and the Society for Neuroscience.   He is a current member of the American Psychiatric Association.
