2010 Recipe Challenge Winners

 

This year we received many healthy and delicious recipes which made choosing the monthly winner difficult. The eight monthly winners were chosen based on a thorough analysis of each recipe's nutritional content. Each recipe needed to include at least one of the following to qualify:

  • Either a Whole grain, Fruit or Vegetable
  • Total fat of one serving must be <30% of total calories
  • Low-fat dairy ingredients, or meat of the lean variety.  The monthly winners will receive a lunch bag from Get Healthy Now.

Here are the winners for each month:

  • March Breakfasts: Extra Easy Microwave Burrito, Stacy Wells

  • April Snacks: Vanilla Bean-Date Smoothie, Katherine Bourcy

  • May Quick & Easy Lunches: Taco Soup, Becki Newton

  • June Desserts: Fruit Trifle, Kristen Roy

  • July Appetizers: Walnut & Olive Quesadilla,  Katie Farmer

  • August Side Items: Local, Summer Cucumber Salad, Kristi King

  • September Main Dishes: Moussaka, Neviana Dimova

  • October Holiday Specialties: Turkey Chili, Wendi Sachs
