Program Director: Patricia Benson

Patricia Benson is the director of Get Healthy Now. An instructor of health and sport science classes at UofL for more than 10 years, she was tapped to head the faculty/staff health management program when it started in 2005. Patricia leads the program, sets its course and works to engage faculty and staff in healthy lifestyle choices. She brings to her role past experience as founder of her own fitness company, called "LifeStyle Wellness," as well as a passion for health, wellness and helping others. Patricia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion and a Master of Education degree in fitness and wellness. She earned both at UofL.
Wellness Specialist, Sr.: Paula Kommor

Paula Kommor brings to the program her love of helping others and a wealth of professional and educational experiences. Paula leads the Wellness Coaching initiatives, facilitates wellness programs, and teaches in the Health & Sport Sciences department. Paula created UofL's Interdisciplinary Wellness Coach Minor in collaboration with Human Resources and the College of Education and Human Development. The program is part of the health and sport sciences curriculum. In it, students learn coaching techniques and then put them into practice helping faculty, staff and students. Paula holds a Master of Education degree in health promotion and counseling from UofL and is trained by the Harvard Mind/Body Medical Institute in cutting-edge stress management techniques. She also holds certificates as an AFAA group fitness instructor, ACE personal trainer, Wellcoaches wellness coach and Zumba instructor. Before coming to UofL, she created Dynamic Wellness LLC, a wellness company designed to help professionals more effectively manage their stress. She also presents "hands-on" keynotes and seminars on stress management.
Program Coordinator, Sr: Farrah Spellman

Farrah manages the employee dedicated fitness facility in Crawford Gym and has been an integral part of the GHN team since April 2006. She bring a fresh, energetic approach to personal fitness for program participants. Farrah earned her degree in exercise science from Morehead State University, where she competed in NCAA Division I cross country and track. She is certified as a USA Track & Field level 1 coach and has American College Sports Medicine (ACSM) Personal Training certification. In addition to her work at UofL, Farrah also has been a fitness trainer at the YMCA and served as the assistant coach for the Manual High School's Girls and Boys State Cross Country/Track Championship teams in 2006 and 2007. Farrah earned a Masters of Education in health education at UofL. Her academic accomplishments and experience in health and wellness, combined with her dedication to community health, are the strengths that make her an asset to Get Healthy Now.
Program Coordinator, Sr: Stephanie Weldy

Alongside a great team of colleagues, Stephanie demonstrates her creativity and customer-service experience to best serve the campus community. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, and worked in various capacities before joining Get Healthy Now. Stephanie has been an employee at the University since 2008 and currently serves as a Program Coordinator, Sr. for Get Healthy Now, overseeing many of the administrative functions of the employee health management program. Stephanie oversees the website and social media profiles, thrives on providing excellent customer service, and plays a dedicated role in ensuring that our offerings positively impact the lives of University employees. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Education in Community Health.
Wellness Coach Coordinator: Brooke Banet

Brooke Banet is the Get Healthy Now wellness coach coordinator. In this role, she facilitates and coordinates one-on-one wellness coaching sessions for UofL faculty and staff. Brooke believes in focusing on the whole person and celebrating every success no matter the size. She brings this attitude to her work helping participants develop wellness goals and meet them. In addition to coaching, she also teaches such Get Healthy Now classes as the "Weigh to Go," a weight-loss program. A UofL graduate, Brooke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance with a concentration in public health. She also has certification from Wellcoaches, an American College of Sports Medicine partnered corporation. She holds a Master of Education in community health. In addition to her work with Get Healthy Now, Brooke also works with Paula Kommor, GHN program support and enhancement, to authenticate the undergraduate student internship in wellness coaching.
Fitness Training Coordinator: Julia Mackenzie Rollinson

Julia works with GHN participants in the employee-dedicated fitness facility as a personal trainer and spearheads many of the programs offered by Get Healthy Now, including Move It to Lose It, Smoking Cessation and more. Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Julia attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Exercise Science, and obtained a Minor in French. After college, Julia moved to Dijon, France to teach English to primary school children. There she was exposed to the exercise and nutrition habits of European culture, which carried over into her life once she returned to the States. Upon her return, Julia earned her personal training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine in 2006 and a running coach certification from the Road Runners Club of America. She joined the Get Healthy Now team during 2010 and continues to encourage participants with her innovative exercise ideas and encouraging presence.
Administrative Assistant: Anahi Astudillo

Anahi provides comprehensive support to the GHN team and all participants in the program. She comes to UofL from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago where she was a Program Administrator for the Chicago Teachers’ Center. Anahi has the experience, skills and strengths to provide a wide range of support for all the functions of this growing and thriving program. Her talents include graphic design, keen organizational skills, database management, creative problem solved, and bilingual (Spanish/English). She joined GHN in 2011 and continues to be a great asset to the program. Anahi is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at UofL.
Fitness Specialist: Valerie Cecil

Valerie began her career at UofL as an event planner in the Alumni Association where she worked for nearly 7 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 2004 and her Masters of Arts in 2006, both from UofL. After receiving her Wellness Coaching certification in June 2010 and her ACSM Personal Training certification in January 2011, she transitioned into the health & wellness industry to offer her expertise in a new capacity. She is currently working part-time with UofL's Get Healthy Now program, offering personal training, wellness coaching, bootcamp instruction, and more.
