2012 KATC Autism Institute will help advance this mission by focusing on improving services, developing communities of support and improving educational outcomes for those with ASD and their families. This event is unique opportunity to bring together families and professionals to a discuss how to implement evidence-base practices in our homes, communities, schools and workplaces.

Institute attendees have access to over 30 high-quality professional development sessions that will address program topics such as planning, social skills, and interpersonal relationships.

Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative
Entering into the third year of the model training site initiative, the KATC works with Michelle Beder and Cheryl Mathis of the Kentucky Valley Education Cooperative to provide training to school teams from Perry and Breathitt Counties. Julie Stewart, with the KATC, will support this region during the 2011-2012 school year.
Caveland Educational Support Center
The summer institute held in Bowling Green was held at the fantastic facilities of the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative and hosted by Deb Myers, the cooperatives low-incidence consultant. Deb brought together school teams from four different districts and will be working together with Laura Ferguson, with the KATC, to support these programs during the 2011-2012 school year.
Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative
School teams from Oldham and Bullitt Counties came together to participate in the summer institute for the model site initiative. Working alongside one another goals and plans were set for students in preschool to high school. A great team from the Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative and various districts, including Debbie Williams, Mary Comer, Sheila Henson, and Kendra Smith-Wehr, will support these teams. KATC will support the district teams and OVEC during the 2011-2012 school year.
