Praxis II

The Praxis Series™ assessments provide educational tests and other services that states use as part of their teacher licensure and certification process. The Praxis II® tests measure subject-specific knowledge. Each state sets passing scores for PRAXIS II examinations. For further information about test preparation, passing score requirements, and test sites, please visit the PRAXIS website.

Students must submit a score for the following PRAXIS II Subject Examination as part of the admission process:

  • Health and Physical Education: Content Knowledge, Test #5856 or 0856

Applicants are not required to take the following PRAXIS II exams for admission, but will be asked to complete these exams toward the end of their program:

  • Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT)
  • Physical Education: Content and Design (5095)

Praxis scores can be accepted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) for up to 5 years from the test date.

Please be advised that the PRAXIS II exams are offered on a limited basis, and results take four to six weeks to reach the University of Louisville. Please plan accordingly if your scores are to be received in time for the application deadline!
