Skills Collaborative

What We Do

What is the future of work and the workforce? What will workers need to succeed in the future workforce? How can we bring together what we know about this need, and what we do about it?

The purpose of the Study of Knowledge Initiatives for Learning, Leadership, and Success (SKILLS) Collaborative is to answer questions like these, bridging the gap between knowledge about work and the workforce, and initiatives with work and the workforce. The SKILLS Collaborative is a space that studies and delivers workforce and work-based learning experiences by examining the emerging and futuristic imagination of work and the workforce through an education and human development lens.

Description The VALLO grant is a 3 year Department of Labor grant for the purpose of exploring education gaps in licensed occupation and where possible creating an education bridge to allow veteran’s to obtain the necessary education to be licensed in that occupation. UofL participates on the team from the 4 year university perspective looking at Nursing Pathways, Social Work Pathways, and Teacher Education and Licensing. It is my understanding that the grant started in July 2018 and finishes in July 2021.
