In just under 23 days we will welcome you, our new scholars, into the University of Louisville campus community with open arms. In an effort to assist all Porter Scholars with their transition to UofL and into the Woodford R. Porter Scholarship Society, you are expected to attend what we have entitled "Porter College".

Many of you have already learned about our 4 day event either from your award letter or at the scholarship reception held in April, freshman orientation this summer or through email.

THE PORTER EFFECT: ACHIEVING MORE THAN BEFORE..ONE SEMESTER AT A TIME.

As stated in your personal Porter award letter, being productive and successful required several responsibilities and behaviors. Please remember that you are NOT alone in this endeavor but we do want you to be poised, positioned, and prepared to do what it takes to be in control of your new college life, your classes, your study habits, your peers and yourself.
