Elect Her 2015
Elect Her
Thursday November 12th, 2015
4-8:30pm
Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room
A national program to encourage and train college women to run for student government and political office. During this one-day, 4-hour training participants will practice hands-on campaign skills, hear from inspiring speakers and discuss research on women in government. The skills learned in this workshop, like networking and building an elevator speech, will transfer to many leadership roles, not just student government! High school and college students are encouraged to participate in this FREE workshop. Open to all.
This is a unique experience hosted by American Association of University Women (AAUW) at UofL where you will practice hands-on campaign skills, hear from inspiring local speakers, and discuss research involving government. Whether you wish to run for student governments/councils, future political offices or just wish to build confidence, strengthen leadership, and master communication skills, this event is for you!
Guest speakers include Ashley D. Miller, former candidate for Kentucky state representative, 2013 Ms. Kentucky United States & Miss University of Louisville 2008; Kentucky Senator Julie Raque Adams; Melissa Richmond, Vice President of Running Start; and UofL Student Council and Student Government Association Members.
