2013 Human Trafficking Awareness Conference

The Third Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Conference "Modern Day Slavery: Breaking the Chains" was held Jan. 16, 2013  The Women 4 Women student chapter and UofL Women’s Center are organizing the event.

Money raised through ticket sales supported a summer service learning trip to Peru, where UofL students and employees met with women who are survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking.

Conference speakers included Theresa Flores, a child sex trafficking survivor, and Colleen Clines, director of the Anchal Project, a non-profit group that works to empower marginalized and exploited women in India.
