An inclusive leader in the field of education and diversity, equity and inclusion committed to equity for Black girls and families.

Shashray McCormack has over 19 years of experience as an educator. She has occupied many roles, from classroom teacher to the district level. In her current position, she is a cultural humility coach at Grace James Academy of Excellence. Her work challenges power imbalances by demonstrating that each person (student, family, community, and teacher) brings valuable cultural experiences to bear on traditional modes of education. In order to accomplish this important task, she encourages students to appreciate and value marginalized or under represented voices in their communities.
