For more than 40 years Dr. Renee Campbell has practiced in the areas of education and social work. She is a recipient of the 2022-University of Louisville, Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work and Family Science Fellow.Dr. Campbell is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc,Phi Delta Kappa International Honor Society and Phi Alpha International Honor Society. Her work includes teaching experience at numerous Colleges and Universities where she taught and supervised students who are pursuing a master’s degree in social work.She is also the Executive Director of Phoenix Global Humanitarian Foundation, a non-profit organization that assist individuals that have suffered natural and manmade disasters.The last 20 years of her experience was serving as President/CEO of a human services organization.Dr. Campbell has a rich background in community building.Her work, interest and passion extend beyond our borders to Africa, where in 2005 she was appointed Sub-Chief by the Tolon Traditional Council in the village of Tolon, Ghana.In 2019, she spearheaded the first educational scholarship program for children, K-8 in the village of Tolon.She is one of the founders of the Louisville Clothesline Project, bringing attention to the widespread abuse of women.She also extended her advocacy for victims by bringing attention and providing programs for the abuse and sexual assaults of women in Ghana and Okinawa, Japan. In December of 2021, Dr. Campbell continued her launch of the Mrs. Ada Doss Story.Dr. Campbell shines the light on the documented professional medical neglect experienced by her grandmother from 1935 to 1940, at Lakeland Lunatic Asylum, now Central State Hospital, located in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2021, Dr. Campbell established the Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell Memorial Scholarship that will provide support for students pursuing a degree in social work, at Kentucky State University.A Mrs. Ada Doss Campbell scholarship fund was also established at the Community Foundation of Louisville. Dr. Campbell is a native of Adairville, KY.Her proudest and most cherished accomplishments are her three children: Phillip, Benjamin and Tristan, and her grandchildren, JaNice, Baylen, Ezekiel, Azaiah, Josephine and Aria.
