Dawn Josephine Wilson is a member of the Committee of Fairness and Individual Rights and currently serves as a Commissioner withboth the Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission as the Commission’s Education Chairperson and is member of the new Juneteenth commission.Ms. Wilson also has a scholarship named for her at U of L in honor of her activism. Dawn also is an avid fencer and coach involved in efforts to grow and promote the sport in the area with youth. She is a 2xNationalChampion vet 40 Womensaber. In 2017 and 2018 Dawn qualified to fence at the World Veterans Championships.She was a member of a 2 medal winning squad and was rated as high as 14th in the world in veterans' saber. In 2020, Dawn joined US. Fencing’s DEIB Committee(diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging)workingon diversifying the sport of fencing. Dawn also now serves as an Elder of Douglass Blvd. Christian Church.
