Etscorn Honors Scholar
Sophomore Brandt Coleman has earned a 2015 Etscorn International Summer Research Scholarship. UofL awards the $5,000 Irvin F. and Alice S. Etscorn International Summer Research Award to promising undergraduates interested in conducting international research over the summer.
Coleman will spend the summer in Mexico interning as a research diver with Spotted Drum Expeditions and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He will study the biodiversity of artificial reefs in the Yucatan Peninsula.
“Throughout the experience, I will be an underwater research diver completing at least four dives a day both on the reefs and in underwater caves,” Coleman said.

Due to graduate in May 2017 from UofL’s College of Arts and Sciences, Coleman is a liberal studies major and plans to earn minors in archeology and environmental analysis. -
