Fall 2022 Graduate Student Appreciation Week
Monday, November 7-Friday, November 11
Events will first be added Wednesday, November 2 and be updated regularly through Friday, November 11.
If you would still like to submit an event, please contact michelle.rodems@louisville.edu.
We invite all members of the UofL Community to recognize a UofL Graduate Student! We know this a challenging time for the entire graduate student body—and we want to celebrate Graduate Student Virtual Appreciation Week with #UofLGRADitude for each and every one of our graduate students. Simply complete this form to share a few words of celebration, recognition, encouragement, or inspiration with a graduate student, and we’ll send them a virtual postcard! A few messages will also be selected and shared across our social media channels for the week!
Graduate Student Appreciation Week was first established through the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students organization in 1993, and since that time has slowly been introduced around the country. While the Graduate School office coordinates the week of events, we’re excited that so many offices and departments on both the Belknap and Health Sciences campuses are taking advantage of the opportunity to recognize their own students or students with whom they regularly have contact. Lunches, coffee or cider breaks, football ticket raffle, or tokens of appreciation are all a part of the week, and we hope graduate students will take a few minutes to enjoy the recognition.
Graduate student life can be incredibly challenging, and graduate students are often a neglected population in the university community. Graduate Student Appreciation Week gives us an opportunity to recognize and celebrate graduate students, while supporting their continued success.
