Cultural Center Graduation Celebration 2024

May 9, 2024 - 6 p.m. Student Activity Center Ballroom

The Graduation Celebration is an annual event celebrating the future and endless possibilities of graduating students at the University of Louisville. This year's celebration will feature a keynote speaker, music, a special message from the Vice President for Institutional Equity, individual recognition, and the presentation of graduation sashes or Kente cloths. May, Summer, and December graduates are encouraged to participate. The event starts at 6:00 pm, and doors open at 5:00 pm. All graduates should plan to arrive no later than 5:40 pm.

Students are encouraged to wear their cap and gowns, which are not required.

This event is open to the campus and local community, including friends and family of the graduates. RSVP is only needed for the graduates.

Kente Cloth/Graduation Sash Distribution

In celebration of your journey to graduation, the Cultural Center will distribute free Kente cloths, Serapes, and graduation sashes to graduates. All requested items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis via Eventbrite registration. The registration deadline is Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Graduates will receive their Kente cloth, sash, or serape at the event.

Attendees who cannot attend may pick up their items on Friday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cultural & Equity Centerat 120 E. Brandeis Avenue (adjacent to the University Alumni Club and across the street from the College of Education).
