Jamie Young, Ph.D., Awarded Gheens Mini Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Jamie Young for receiving UofL's Office of Community Engagement Gheens Foundation Mini Grant. Receipt of a Gheens Foundation Mini Grant from the UofL Office of Community Engagement will help establish a long-term relationship with the Henderson County High School Science Club and provide unique opportunities for these students to engage in research activities they would otherwise not have access to. Both the community of Henderson County and the UofL community will be impacted by this partnership. It will result in a partnership that links rural and urban areas through a common concern (drinking water contamination) while also providing unique opportunities and resources to the youth of Henderson. We hope that these students will build relationships with UofL of faculty and students that will bridge them to success and higher education.
