Did You Know?

That we house approximately 3200 students on or near campus?

That 70% of our residents live within the metropolitan area?

Students who live on campus for their first year of college have a 15% greater chance to return the second year and to graduate than those who do not?

Students may use their meal plan money to eat at any of the food service areas on campus.

Room changes may be done after the 3rd week of class as space allows.

Residents are given preference for the 200+ part time staff positions hired annually. Positions include facility assistants, desk assistants, computer lab assistants, resident assistants, resident inters, conference assistants, RSA executive leaders and more!

Parents

Welcome to the Housing and Residence Life Program. Although your student is the person moving onto campus, we recognize that your life will change as well. It is our goal to help you and your student during this transition.

The College Students of Today

The college students of today have high levels of trust and optimism and a newly felt connection to parents and the future. they are on track to become the best-educated and best behaved adults in the nation's history. They are highly team oriented and formed tight peer bonds. Their parents have read to them more than in past generations. They have spent more time with their families and parents. They are sociable, talented, well educated, collaborative, open-minded and achievement oriented, but need: Heroes, Hope, Love, and a sense of Purpose.

What students of today expect...

Teamwork: We provide activities on the residence hall floors to promote team building. Students will be encouraged to participate over the first few weeks in educational and social programs, group meetings and meals, hall council elections and service projects in an effort to help them feel connected to the other residents and the campus.

Entertainment and excitement. Floor parties, homecoming activities, golf cart parades, dances, games, theme parties, athletic events, community service opportunities and more! There are many things planned by the staff and the students to meet the interests of the residents.

Structure: The first year halls (Miller, Unitas and Center) have a more structured guest-hour policy than the other halls. At the end of the first semester, the residents in those halls are able to vote on whether they want to change the policy. These halls also have a "no alcohol" policy. All halls have guest escort policies, posted fire and life safety policies, along with other rules and regulations.

Technology: All students have an individual high speed internet connection in their room. There are computers labs in Miller and Louisville Halls for students to use. Also, many of the housing and university announcements will be sent over email to the residents.
