Junior Stephanie Dooper has earned a 2015 Etscorn International Summer Research Scholarship. UofL awards the $5,000 Irvin F. and Alice S. Etscorn International Summer Research Award to promising undergraduates interested in conducting international research over the summer.

Dooper, an Owensboro native, will visit the Netherlands where she will explore the relationship between government policy and urban planning. She plans to use her research for her honors thesis and to learn more about sustainable land use, affordable housing and water management.

“This award is very significant in helping develop and enhance my undergraduate academic career. It is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable research skills that will prepare me for graduate school. I am honored to further my education in this practical and nontraditional way and greatly appreciate the continuous support from our exceptional university,” Dooper said.
