Parking

We can help you organize carpools in September. Saturdays, you may park in the lots directly next to the School of Music at no charge. Since we are at the edge of campus, it may be easiest before 5:00 p.m. to find a spot on one of the surrounding streets. Paid parking is available at several places. After 4:30 you may pay $3.00 and park in the visitors lot across the street.

The Speed Museum Garage is available (on the other side of the circle out front) and we have tickets which you can pick up from us - 6 tickets for $9.00. You may purchase a Purple U of L permit for $80.00 (available at Dept. of Public Safety at Floyd St. garage) which will get you into the lot adjacent to the SOM after 5:00 PM on a space-available basis. When you register ask for a parking authorization for the U of L Permit. Many people use the 15-min. meters for quick drop-off and pick-up of students. The visitor lot will accommodate quick drop offs only a couple of times each semester. Do not block traffic or park in front of the Planetarium. If you are stopped in the loading zone, you must have flashers on.
