Richard Sisto

Recent work includes the end of a 25 year run as music director of the Seelbach Hilton Jazz Bar. His trio backed numerous jazz greats. He has continued to teach vibraphone at the Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops. Since the writing of his popular book entitled The Jazz Vibraphone Book Sisto has given clinic and master classes at Queens College, The Univ. of North Texas, The World Vibraphone Congress in Asbury Pk. NJ, and numerous Universities throughout the country.

Recent work includes composing original music for the DVD biography film about the life of Thomas Merton entitled Soul Searching. It has aired nationally on PBS and internationally. He currently performs concerts in numerous universities, churches and venues playing original music and compositions by Coltrane, Ellington and other Great jazz artists.

He has recorded several nationally released and recognized CD’s as a leader with Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, Barry Ries, Drew Gress, Dennis Irwin and others.

Currently he continues to teach Jazz and Improvisational vibraphone at the Univ. of Louisville in the Percussion Dept. A complete bio is available at www.dicksisto.com.
