Background
Susan Grammer graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a Certificate in Dental Hygiene. She received her Master’s in Education and taught at the University of Kentucky in an experimental Dental Hygiene Program that was based in Ashland Kentucky. At the end of that year she accepted a position teaching at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in the Expanded Duty Dental Assisting Program.
After teaching in the Dental Assisting Program for eight years, Ms. Grammer accepted a position in the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Louisville and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Health and Rehabilitation.
Ms. Grammer teaches all of the radiology courses in the Dental Hygiene Program as well as the first year theory classes and has given numerous continuing education courses in Radiation Safety. For the last nine years she was a course director with an elective course that was co-sponsored with the Louisville Zoo on animal dentistry.
Teaching Activities
Mrs. Grammer is responsible for the Radiology courses including didactic, laboratory, clinical and advanced techniques for the dental hygiene students. She also teaches the pre-clinical courses, Dental Hygiene Theory I and II
In addition she teaches Radiation Safety Continuing Education course for
the state of Kentucky.
