The Our Highest Potential Chair in Pan African Studies was established with the Research Challenge Trust Fund Match generated by the Audre Lorde Chair, established by Carla F. Wallace.

The chair is based in the Department of Pan African Studies, both in the College of Arts and Sciences.  The teaching and research emphasis of the chair is in the area of race, class and nationality as it applies to Pan-African Studies.
