Herbert F. Boehl Chair in Property and Land Use

School of Law

Established September 1998

Two chairs were established from the estate of Herbert F. Boehl, a 1918 graduate of the law school. Kentucky's Research Challenge Trust Fund doubled the endowment. The Boehl chair in property and land use provides expertise on the legal dimensions of real estate, development and urban planning, giving interdisciplinary assistance to colleagues across the university to foster team-based research.

Boehl was a founding member of Boehl, Stopher & Graves LLP, a civil litigation defense firm in Louisville. He was honored as a life member of the U of L Board of Overseers.
