UofL APSI Policies and Registration

The University of Louisville (U of L) is pleased to offer a College Board endorsed Advanced Placement Summer Institute June 18-22 and July 16-20, 2018. New and experienced AP teachers will spend four and a half days exploring the latest methods and curriculum topics in AP curriculum, teaching strategies, and course content.


U of L APSI fees for sessions without labs are $600; Fees for sessions with labs have an extra $50 fee. Registration fees include course instruction, College Board packets, training materials, continental breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Applications must be accompanied by full course and housing payment (if applicable) or a school/school district purchase order; Purchase orders may be used to cover on-campus housing as well as registration fees. Applications received after the deadlines must include full course payment or a school/school district purchase order and an additional $45 late fee.

Courses will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications will be accepted until maximum enrollment is reached. College Board packets may not be available on the first day of the institute for late registrants but will be ordered as soon as possible.

Institute registrations should be made using the online registration form. Payments can be made online with VISA or MASTERCARD only. Checks or purchase orders should be made payable to the University of Louisville and include a copy of the online registration receipt.

Class Location

Classes will be held in various locations on the UofL Belknap main campus and the adjacent duPont Manual High School. The campus is about 10 - 15 minutes from the airport as well as downtown Louisville. We are an environmentally friendly and sustainable campus. Wireless connections will be available to participants during the institute. We strongly encourage all participants to bring a laptop computer for use during the institute.

Daily Schedule

Schedules may vary from course to course, but daily sessions are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. (Please note that we do not give graduate or undergraduate credit for our institute)


Once you submit the registration form, you will be sent an e-mail from apsi@louisville.edu. All communications from the institute will be sent using this e-mail address. Please make sure you include an email that is checked regularly during the school year and summer.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Full refunds of APSI tuition will be issued for cancellations received approximately four weeks before each institute begins. No refunds will be issued after that date. There is a $30 charge for all checks returned for insufficient funds.

Course Cancellation

Although every effort will be made to maintain the published schedule of sessions, events such as insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, room conflicts, or inclement weather may require a schedule adjustment. Participants will be notified of any change in the published information.

Certificates of Attendance

Certificates are delivered by mail at the end of the institute to participants with registration fees that have been paid in full and attended all class meetings.

Off-Campus Accommodations
We have agreements with a few local hotels to offer participants a reduced rate. Please mention the UofL APSI when making reservations.


Parking during the institute will be located on the U of L Belknap campus or duPont Manual High School. Exact details will be sent by email at a later date.
