Effective Communication for Leaders Under Pressure
Joan Beck, Eastern Kentucky University

Strong leaders communicate clearly and consistently to inspire others. Our ability to communicate clearly is often hampered by our own internal responses to threats. Today, there are numerous threats to higher education. The ways we lead through these threats will determine whether we survive and what we will look like on the other side. In this workshop, we will give leaders the tools to cope with this environment. We will examine fears and threats, discuss response methods, examine communication styles, and practice highly charged conversations. Participants will find the strategies and tools from this workshop applicable in a variety of leadership scenarios.

*6 sponsorships are available - 3 faculty & 3 staff. Contact the Women's Center for more information womenctr@louisville.edu or 852-8976.
