UofL Muhammad Ali Institute for Peace and Justice’s symposium: "Muhammad Ali: A Transcendent Life Standing Up for Peace” March 31
The UofL Muhammad Ali Institute for Peace and Justice’s annual symposium will be held March 31.  "Muhammad Ali: A Transcendent Life Standing Up for Peace” will run from 9:30am-6pm that day, and include plenary sessions in the morning which address how Ali inspires young people and how artists are standing up for peace and are inspired by Muhammad Ali. In the first session, Dr. Raymond Green will speak about the Muhammad Ali social justice magnet at Central High School. In the second sessionn, Hannah L. Drake will speak about how Ali inspires her as an artist.  The keynote speaker is Ambassador Shabazz (Malcolm X’s eldest daughter).
  
Break-out sessions in the afternoon will include:

  • Student Voices – Middle School & High School Students – A Facilitated Conversation
  • Arts & Humanities Advancing Social Change
  • Honoring Muhammad Ali’s Community Connections
  • Muhammad Ali’s Global Impact
  • Advocating for Peace Today - Student Voices (College students)
