Teaching Physics
Have you ever thought about teaching physics? The UofL Department of Physics & Astronomy would like to encourage you to think very seriously about this career option! Teaching physics can be very rewarding work. Furthermore, there is an on-going serious shortage of qualified physics teachers in Kentucky and most of the United States. To become certified as a physics teacher, you will need some formal education training. Our "Early Start" program will help you get there sooner. Under this program, you can get your Bachelors degree in Physics and a Masters degree in Teaching in a total of 5 years. The University's Noyce Teacher Scholar's Grant Program provides some additional incentive to pursuing a career as a physics teacher.
