Abstract: With the start of the space program a new area began for astronomical observations. The James Webb Space Telescope, expected to launch in 2018, will be latest in a long line of successful NASA space observatories. It will provide astronomers with unprecedented views of the Universe in the infrared and reveal information about the very first galaxies. We will take a look at the history and future of and explore the important achievements of space observations.
