Session 1: Overview for Successful Student Supervision

In this session, we'll delve into the foundational aspects of student employment, focusing on best practices, recognition, and fostering meaningful conversations among colleagues.
Best Practices in Student Employment: Dr. Brittany Wildman, Director of Student Activities, will lead us in exploring the key stages of student employment, including recruiting the right talent, effective onboarding strategies, and the importance of comprehensive training.
Recognition/Appreciation/Situational Leadership: Learn about the significance of recognizing and appreciating student employees' contributions and how situational leadership can enhance their experience.
Facilitated Conversation: Engage in insightful discussions with your colleagues, sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices in student employment.
Book Reflections: Each participant will receive a copy of The Purposeful Graduate: Why Colleges Must Talk to Students about Vocation by Tim Clydesdale
Session 2: Professional Development & Career Readiness Focus

We will focus on professional development, student learning, and enhancing career readiness among student employees.
Student Voices Panel: Gain invaluable insights from a panel of student voices as they discuss the impact of college employment on their personal and professional growth.
Career Readiness: Mallory Newby, the Employee Success Center Career Pathways Specialist will introduce competencies to highlight to support students in their growth.
Networking Break: Engage in liberating structures to openly discuss the resources needed to support student learning and development.
High Impact Supervision: Learn strategies for providing high-impact supervision, connecting student employment experiences to essential career readiness skills.
Session 3: Intentionality Moving Forward
Thursday, May 16th, 9:00am-12:00pm (Lunch will be included)
We'll explore the future of student employment and how we can better support our students in their journey towards success.
