Brief Description: In 2017, the UL Pediatric Clinic renovated the waiting room space for its patients and their caregivers, including the addition of a library of culturally relevant children’s literature and artwork. African American male volunteers provided interactive read alouds for the children and their caregivers for two hours each afternoon. This study documented effects of the renovation and volunteer read aloud program.
