Dr. Nikki Adams (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor in the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education program. Her research is focused on supporting marginalized families to access and understand educational systems and practitioners to support marginalized families, specifically individuals from refugee backgrounds, and their children. Dr. Adams has coordinated and been involved in a number of quantitative and qualitative research studies focused on families who are marginalized in special education. Dr. Adams has experience as a teacher in private and public preschool settings. She has also held roles such as a Developmental Evaluator and Behavior Specialist to mediate preschool suspension and expulsion.
