Mikus Abolins-Abols, PhD, Highlighted in UofL News for NSF Grant
A National Science Foundation grant, administered by the University of Louisville, is enhancing science education by immersing eight Jefferson County Public Schools teachers in a summer research program focused on urban ecological issues. These teachers collaborate with UofL faculty, including Dr. Mikus Abolins-Abols, a member of CIEHS, on projects such as studying urban heat islands. This hands-on experience allows them to bring practical environmental knowledge back to their classrooms.
